Field Note: The Possum Incident

A possum was sighted, which would be ordinary if I did not already have a history of unexpected apartment wildlife.

The possum, in its idle state
STATESIGHTED

A possum was sighted. No camera was involved, no model made a prediction, and nobody needs to call this a dataset.

This is also not my first encounter with an animal making itself at home. At an old apartment, a flying squirrel had apparently decided the building was a reasonable place to reside.

Coworkers from that era know the story well, mostly because it refuses to become less strange with repetition.

One possum, one flying squirrel, and a growing body of evidence that I should inspect the crawlspace before signing anything.
